BIOGRAPHY
Sitting on the bed of her Buell Street apartment, Ula Blue dug her heels into the sheepskin rug, strumming the nylon string guitar she got for free on Facebook when she had been living an ocean away. Stuck between the high of youthful independence and the low of unrequited love, even though she was the closest to home she’d been in months, she felt remarkably far away.
If Bjork and Lana Del Rey had a baby, it would be Ula Blue. She’s not just a musician, she’s a vibe, an attitude, and a middle finger to convention.
Ula Blue is a psychedelic rocker and producer native to Vermont. She started her music career in the Burlington, VT basement scene where she solidified her psychedelic indie-rock sound with fellow UVM bred bands Kudu Stooge and Chazzy Lake.
Blue’s blend of 80s electronic-pop elements and live psych-rock inspired instrumentation and vocals have driven comparisons to the likes of Jefferson Airplane, New Order, Ani Difranco, and Mazzy Star.
She currently resides in Nashville, TN where she is producing her upcoming debut album.
